After a long day of walking through Central Park, Nikki and I met up with a few friends at one of their favorite places: a southern eatery called Jacob's Pickles. On the menu was an assortment of pickle-related items, some southern comfort food, as well as the "Midnight Mac and Cheese," which was the dish that I was excited about.

The Midnight Mac and Cheese is a breakfast Mac, with penne noodles (not macaroni), jalapeños, sausage, a sunny-side-up egg, and a cheese blend made of white cheddar, white American, mozzarella, and pecorino romano cheeses. All together, the dish was phenomenal, and really captured the feeling of a breakfast Mac and Cheese. The sausage was my favorite bit, and I was excited every time some turned up in a bite. The jalapeños were also good, but I felt they used just a few too many, and found them distracting towards the end of the meal. Still a great Mac and Cheese!

All-in-all, I enjoyed Jacob's Pickles quite a bit. It's a good thing I don't live nearby, or this place might start affecting my health. 😅
